JB on KPFK, and so much more

Happy February!

Benny and I just returned home from Disney Hall, where I lead our first rehearsal for Musik! Fantasie! Revolution!, the Weimar Berlin cabaret we’re creative directing, arranging, and orchestrating for the LA Philharmonic’s Weimar Festival. It was exhilarating, delicious, and overall wunderbar! That’s February 11 at Black Rabbit Rose…but we’re very sold out—I do hope we can present this sexy, scintillating evening again in the future!

Though in modest lieu of attending, you can listen to Benny and I discuss the show, the era, and its mesmerizing music TODAYFebruary 6, 12-12:30PM PST on 90.7 KPFK in Los Angeles and streaming worldwide at kpfk.org. During the Global Village, KPFK’s daily of “music from around the world and down the block,” host John Schneider will spin new and vintage recordings of some songs we’ll feature in the cabaret, with attendant history and musicology in between the tracks. Pinching myself to guest on a program I so admire, on my favorite radio station no less! If you can’t listen live, you can find us soon in the G-V archive.

Afterwards we debut And On the 366th Day Saturday, February 29, 8p at Luckman Fine Arts Complex. On Monday Benny and I met with the production team; the theater’s gonna look gorgeous and both new and old J-B originals alike are sure to sparkle in it. Reserve now before this one sells out too at luckmanarts.org, call (323) 343-6600, or journey to the box office (5151 State University Dr, Los Angeles).

Benny and I also announced two shows in New York March 23 and 30 at Club Cumming, and we haven’t forgotten our Early Bird sweepstakes winner! More on those soon, and another radio spot on Channel Q—but ’til then…tschüss!

Liebe,

Jack
