J 'n B rockin' the suburbs

Nothing standard about this standard time…

Benny and I are optimistic—how ‘bout you? While we follow the election in terrific suspense, we prep two musical engagements enriching the Southland in the next 2 weeks.

First, next Sunday, November 15, 5PM, Newport Beach’s Campus Jax hosts dear friend and dazzling songstress Nina Herzog and her Moonlight Trio: Benny on bass, high school compatriot Balam Garcia on guitar, and yours truly at the ivories, with cameos from trumpeter Tony Guerrero. Nina croons a dynamic program bursting with marvelous tunes, from Arlen and Berlin to mine and Benny’s wintry original, “The Warmth of a Stranger.” Jax’s showroom now operates totally and compliantly outdoors, where all ages can enjoy their cajun cuisine with fine entertainment. Reserve your table soon to this rare live performance sure to illuminate this ever-darkening autumn.

And only a handful days later, the strains of Lennon and McCartney and Harrison resound at the drive-in Friday, November 20, 7PM in The Piano Men: The Music of the Beatles, presented by California Center for the Arts, Escondido at Cal State San Marcos. At two grand pianos Benny and I co-front a 5-piece band in the songs that first shaped our musicality, when dad would spin his Fab Four vinyls as we dried after tandem baths. August’s Billy Joel and Elton John bonanza with the Center sold out; get your ticket to ride now!

Hope to entertain you this month—to your sustained health!

Love,

Jack
