Join jackbenny and the Bombshells for a night of holiday cheer! The show will feature newly-arranged holiday classics and seasonal jackbenny originals, all with heaps of harmony!
The Bombshells were created in 2016 by three ladies and one fella looking to bring the musicality, sentiments and novelty of vintage female trio acts to modern audiences today.
By blending Top 40 hits with the tight harmonies made famous by the Andrews Sisters, they bridge the gap between old and new, bringing joy to both young and more seasoned audiences. All of their arrangements are completely original and present songs you've heard a million times on the radio in a brand new way.
As Broadway World stated, "The Bombshells are first class winners. All three possess beautiful voices with superior accompaniment behind them. It's fresh, it's sassy, and its harmony is delightfully unlike anything you have ever heard."
Thus far, they've made appearances at Los Angeles' historic Edison Lounge, Rockwell Table and Stage, Las Vegas' Smith Center as well as a sold out NYC debut at the prestigious Birdland Jazz Club.
After years of studying, performing, and writing a wide range of music separately, Los Angeles-native twin composers, vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Jack and Benny Lipson united to birth the award-winning project jackbenny, which injects musical theater storytelling into the gamut of artistic styles. They shared their debut show in 2016 with musician-comedian Reggie Watts, and have since played their "sensational, clever and astute" originals in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Sheridan, Wyoming, where they presented their “musicalette,” Miranda, Please! through the Wyoming Theater Festival, and even in Falam, Myanmar. As the house band for Anita Procedure’s bimonthly A Queer Cabaret, jackbenny has collaborated with artists including Darren Criss, Michael Arden, and Jai Rodriguez, and they play regularly with undie-rockers The Skivvies throughout the West Coast. jackbenny performs once a month in residency at the Lyric Hyperion Theater in Los Angeles and are developing Brainstorm, a 3-character song cycle of their music.
